Implementation of the Regional Innovation System project will be based on creation and development of a cooperation network on the regional level, between suppliers of innovation and technology (universities) and their recipients (companies), in order to improve innovativeness and competitiveness of the region. Key elements of the network of the Regional Innovation System (RSI) will include: Local Technology and Innovation Relay Centres (LOTTI) and industrial clusters, which will serve the purpose of transfer of know-how and new technologies.
Duties of the LOTTI centres, which are created at universities and in business-related bodies involved in the project, will include identifying technologic necessities of MSP, collection of the above information and transferring it to research centres and scientists.
Within the framework of the project of establishing the Regional Innovation System, various actions will be taken for creation of industrial clusters in the region. Research and analysis of potential in selected sectors (fishery, chemical, and wood-furniture) as well as conferences and consultations with experts in technology transfer and industrial clusters will be conducted. One of the priority objectives the regional clusters have to achieve is their inclusion in the activity of Polish and European technologic platforms.
A supporting and supplementing element for the Regional Innovation System will be an internet platform, where entrepreneurs will be able to find information on innovations and technologies offered by universities in the region, contact data to R&D specialists and experts, information on opportunities to obtain funds for innovation, events and partners in the network of the Regional Innovation Network, as well as histories of those entrepreneurs, who took advantage of the RSI’s offer.
The RSI project provides for promotion of innovation in West Pomeranian voivodship by organizing trainings and informative meetings for entrepreneurs, scholars and students, and by a media campaign promoting a culture of innovation.
